Ghost in the Current

A photographic series exploring movement, atmosphere and immersion.

Works from Ghost in the Current are developed with consideration for scale, surface and spatial context. Through enlargement and material translation, the imagery moves beyond the frame, allowing the work to engage directly with architectural space.
Subtle adjustments to illumination, contrast and surface texture further extend the atmospheric qualities of the original image, embedding light and movement within the material itself.
Installation — Berry House
A site-responsive adaptation of Jellyfish | Ghost in the Current was developed for a private residence at Berry House, a heritage-listed property located just outside Newcastle.
Originally built in 1857 by John Eales, the home features 14-foot ceilings, solid sandstone walls and original timber detailing, set within five acres of established grounds. The work was commissioned for the main bathroom, where the architectural character of the space informed both scale and material decisions.
In response to the client brief, the original image was refined to introduce greater surface texture and a heightened sense of illumination within the jellyfish forms. These adjustments enhance the interaction between light, material and environment, allowing the work to sit comfortably within the historic interior while introducing a contemporary visual presence.
Production documentation captures the installation process, with final photography to follow upon completion of the interior.
